Sharron Higgins

Sharron Higgins was a 1963 graduate from RJH School of Nursing and received her BScN at the University of Victoria in 1982.

Her early nursing career was with the new CRD Home Care and Hospital Liaison programs.

Then as a Public health Nurse for 14 years, she actively developed unique school health projects. Namely, an adult “Wellness Coalition” for teachers; and, a high school-based day care called “Higgins House” for returning Grade 12 students and their babies.

As a Director of the BC School Health Association, she co-wrote an 85-page Guide for BC Schools called, “Healthy Kids Learn Better”.

Mrs. Higgins has been recognized by SD #61, BCPHA, and the BC Council for the Family for her innovative school-based projects in health education and promotion in Victoria.
